wptom login

Terminal window
npx wptom login

Connects this computer to your WPTom license so PRO templates work in the CLI. Free templates don’t need it. You do it once per computer.

  1. Run the command. It shows a code and opens your browser:

    ◇ Connect this computer ─────────────────────────────╮
    │ │
    │ 5X78-X588 │
    │ │
    │ Open https://app.wptom.com/device?code=5X78-X588 │
│ and check that the code matches. │
    │ │
    ├───────────────────────────────────────────────────────╯
◒ Waiting for approval in your browser...
  2. In the browser, sign in if asked (how), with the email you bought with.

  3. The page Connect this device? shows the code, this computer’s name (e.g. mac · macOS), your account and how many devices are in use. If the code matches the one in your terminal, click Approve. (Not you? Deny: nothing is connected and the code stops working.)

  4. The page says You’re connected, and the terminal:

    ◇ Logged in as you@email.com · All-access

The code is valid for 10 minutes. If nobody approves it in time: Nobody approved the code in time. Run wptom login again.

Option Use it when
--no-browser The computer has no browser (a server over SSH, a container). The link is printed; open it on your phone or any other device and approve there.
  • Devices: a license works on 3 computers (Team: 15). Approving a fourth signs out the one used least recently, and the terminal says Device limit reached (3): signed out your least recently used device. See Devices.
  • Already logged in? Already logged in as you@email.com. Run wptom logout first to switch accounts.
  • No license on the account? The browser page says No license yet with a link to all-access. Free templates still work.
  • Several licenses (e.g. a single template and All-access)? The broadest active one is used, and access is checked across all of them.
  • What’s stored: only a device token, in ~/.config/wptom/config.json, readable by you only. Your license key never leaves the website.
